I'm still trying to figure it out myself.
An average girl in a small town with crazy ideas. Wanting an outlet to express them.
Some interests/hobbies of mine:
-dancing. Anywhere. Usually by myself or with a group of friends, never with guys. They seem to think dancing is a precursor to sex or some other ridiculous hookup and I'm not down with that. You know they probably hate it, too. Their sole reason for dancing is to meet/grind up on chicks.
-poker. Just learned this one lately thanks to the help of my lovely boyfriend Brian, and now I'm addicted. Playing as I speak. With thank money, of course (thank god).
-cooking. Another newbie. In fact, I used to hate cooking. Then one day I made food and realized it was good. I love it. I go to the grocery store a couple of times a week now. The only catch it, I hate cooking if its only for myself. Seems like such a waste! Cooking for others is such a joy to me.
-painting. Used to do it a lot more. Not too good at it, hah. But fuck! Thats what art is, isn't it?! Its random and beautiful whether or not you think you have talent. Unless you're 2. Or just really terrible.
-primates. Very interested in those fellas! My major is anthropology so of course I'm learning a lot about evolution and all that hoopla. Primates, all of them, fascinate me. I particularly like gibbons and gorillas. And alliteration apparently.
-the homeless. Okay, let me explain. A year ago I was the president of a volunteer group at UNCG that took a trip to Washington DC every year during spring break. We did different volunteer work around the city at soup kitchens, homeless shelters, etc. I'm really interested in helping the homeless and figuring out the source of this problem. Of course there is the obvious... the economy, drugs, simple misfortune. But why can't some people seem to get enough help or get back onto their feet? Hmm.
Next time you see a homeless person on the street, don't turn your head in ignorance. Give them the respect of being a fellow human being and smile, say hello. You don't have to give them money, just don't treat them like lepers.
I'm out like a trout.
